GOD
We believe in one God in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Dt 6:4; Mt 28:19, 1 Pet 1:2). We believe that all things were created by God – the heavens, the earth and all that is contained within the universe, both seen and unseen (Gen 1:1,2).
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the living and active word of God (2 Pet 1:19-21). It is without error and is the sole authority for faith and practice in its application to our daily lives (2 Tim 3:16-17).
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God (Mt 3:17; John 3:16). He is fully God and took on human flesh. We believe Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again. (1 Cor 15:3-8). Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Light and no man comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
SALVATION
We believe that all have sinned and are without hope except for God’s saving mercy (Rom 3:22-24; Rom 6:23). We believe that salvation is a free and everlasting gift of God to be received by faith alone and cannot be earned through good deeds. (Titus 3:5; 1Peter 1:3).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that all who have received Christ are united into one body through the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 12:12-13). Upon receiving Christ by faith, we receive the Holy Spirit, who acts to seal us in the family of God (Eph 1:13-14) and to empower us toward Christ like character (Gal 5:22-23) and loving service to one another (Phil 2:3-4, Eph 2:10).
LIFE AFTER DEATH
We believe in the resurrection of the body. All who believe in Jesus Christ will have everlasting life in the presence of God (John 3:16; John 5:24). Those who reject Jesus Christ will have eternal separation from God. (1 Matt 13:40-42).
END TIMES
We believe this may happen at any time. We believe that Jesus is going to return in the clouds for His church before the tribulation that is coming upon the whole earth (1 Thess 4:13-17). Jesus will judge all evil (Mat 24:27-31; Rev 1:7) and restore all of creation and establish His Kingdom (Dan 7:27).
PROMISE TO ISRAEL
We believe the Church has not replaced Israel (Duet 7:6, Rom 11:1-2). The nation of Israel has a special place in God’s unfolding plan of the ages and all the promises of God to Israel will be fulfilled (Romans 11:25-29).
MARRIAGE & HUMANITY
We hold to the biblical view that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Gen 2:24, Matt 19:4-6) reflecting Christ’s love for His church. We believe God’s design is that men and women are distinct in gender (Gen 2:18-24).
CHURCH ORDINANCES
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church (Eph 5:23; 1 Peter 5:4) and the Church comprises all who acknowledge Him as their personal Lord and Saviour. In obedience to Christ’s commands, we embrace the teachings of baptism and communion:
- Communion: We remember Jesus Christ substitutionary death and bodily resurrection in the sharing of the Lord’s supper, signifying the redemptive work of Christ accomplished on the cross (1 Cor 11:23-26).
- Baptism: We encourage people to follow their commitment to Jesus by expressing their faith through baptism by immersion as an act of identification with Him and the new life He brings (Rom 6:1-3).
